| Bio: | Hey Everyone, I'm not usually very good at talking about myself, but I can chat about my family or my passions all day long. For a long time, I believed that having a good life meant settling for a job that paid the most money, just to make ends meet. However, I have spent many years retraining my mindset to understand that I don’t have to settle for anything—it's my life, after all. A few years ago, I enrolled at Ivy Tech at the Anderson Campus, diving in with the determination that if I failed, I would simply get back up and try again. I am a force to be reckoned with when it comes to pursuing what I want and understanding who I am. I am engaged to a fantastic man who works as a truck driver, and we will be getting married on December 13, 2025! I am also a mom to two beautiful daughters, Savannah and Kylie, and a fur mom to a lovely Basset Hound named Peaches. I enjoy traveling, cooking, baking, crafting, reading, photography, and spending time with my little family. While I love the fall, winter is my all-time favorite season. I spent ten years in Alaska and cherished every moment of it. I am currently studying Visual Communications with a focus on Photography, pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. I have always had a passion for photography, and the sky has always been my favorite subject to capture. After graduation, I would like to expand my education to include web design. I began my journey at Ivy Tech, initially uncertain about my career path. I started with Early Childhood Development in the hopes of becoming a teacher while working as a substitute for Anderson Community Schools. I loved the opportunity to help shape the lives of children and, of course, seeing my own child during the day. However, I soon realized that teaching was not my dream job. I then switched my major to Nursing with the intention of working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I was drawn to caring for babies who needed extra love, including those suffering from addiction or those who had been abandoned. However, I came to understand that it would be emotionally challenging for me to care for those babies because my maternal instincts would compel me to want to love and protect them, possibly even adopt them. Caught in this dilemma, I was unsure about my true passion until my brother pointed out my long-standing love for photography. He reminded me of my knack for capturing breathtaking moments, such as the ocean and stunning sunsets at Destin Beach, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Shores. This reflection led me to revisit the photos I had taken, and I realized my dream job was behind the camera. Whether I’m photographing the sky, the ocean, my basset hound, or cherished moments with friends and family, I want to have my camera in hand at all times. Why not make a living doing what I love? I truly believe that technology provides us with countless options, but there is something special about a printed memory captured at a meaningful moment—whether by me or someone else. Vintage photos of our loved ones preserve their stories and the memories we share. I look forward to passing down boxes of these photographs to my daughters, knowing that they will hold reminders of times I can no longer share with them. So, that’s a little about me! ;) |
