A recipient of Ivy Tech Community College's President's Award for Excellence in Instruction, Carroll Shaver Student Advocacy Award, Spirit of Diversity Award, and a National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award, he serves as Professor and Program Chair of Social Science. Powell has a Ph.D. in cultural studies in education from the Patton College of Education at Ohio University, master’s degrees in sociology and history, and bachelor’s degrees in history and social science. He teaches classes in history, political science, and sociology and is a presenter at national conferences in different fields. He has authored books, presentations, and other works on various topics. |
