Bio:

My name is Renardo “Ellay” Williams, and I’m an adjunct faculty instructor with a background that blends technology, business, creativity, and community leadership. I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of people and systems, and I genuinely enjoy helping others learn, grow, and problem solve, especially when technology feels confusing or intimidating.

I currently teach in the School of Information Technology at Ivy Tech, working with students in courses such as Informatics Fundamentals, Computing Logic, and Student Success. Alongside teaching, I also serve as a Corporate Trainer and Project Consultant, where I design and deliver workforce training in tools like Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Suite. No matter the setting, my goal is always to break complex ideas down into practical, real world skills students can actually use.

Before teaching, I spent many years in enterprise IT and technical support, troubleshooting systems, improving processes, and mentoring team members. Earlier in my career, I worked as a Creative Director and Lead Photographer, which still influences how I think about branding, storytelling, and problem solving today.

Why I Teach

I teach because I believe education should feel accessible, supportive, and empowering. I know firsthand that not everyone comes into the classroom with the same background, confidence, or access to resources. My goal is to meet students where they are, help them build confidence in their abilities, and show them how their skills can translate into real opportunities. I enjoy creating learning spaces where questions are welcome, mistakes are part of the process, and growth is the focus. Teaching allows me to give back, share what I’ve learned, and support students as they work toward their own goals, both inside and outside the classroom.
