I spent eight-years as an M1 Armor Crewman (driving M1 tanks), and then switched to the Signal Corps as a computer programmer. I retired from the US Army in 2006 after 21 years of active service. I then went to work for a local manufacturing company in their IT department. I finished my BS in Computer Network Design from WGU in 2015. While pursuing my degree, I achieved CompTia's A+, Security+, and Project+ certifications. I also achieved a certification in web page design. I pursued and achieved certification in Microsoft's Exchange Server 2007 to administer it at work. I also achieved several other Microsoft exam passes that granted me a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) designation. I worked on a small team of four people. I had primary responsibility for Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, Azure and Azure AD, Exchange Online, Intune, Teams, and other services, Windows Server, and VMware. I programmed in C# and PowerShell creating web sites and managing services. I also deployed hardware and software to several remote sites and configured monitoring and alerting for them. Most recently, I decided to pursue my Masters Degree in IT Project Management and to work in education. Now, I work for a large private university as an Active Directory Administrator and create C# and other software in support of an identity platform called Okta.
I really like to listen to audio books--especially scifi and fantasy novels. I also love to spend time with friends and family playing computer or board games.
