Dr. R. Ann Whaley is a full-time faculty member with Ivy Tech Community College, in addition to being a Middle East cultural consultant- providing expertise to several branches of the United States military, several members of foreign government agencies, and several groups & corporations in the United States. Ann's experience draws from the ten years she worked in the Middle East as a hospital and environmental group director in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Of her many achievements, Ann was the recipient of a U. S. Marine Corps University fellowship with the university's History Division and awarded the Jefferson Award for her contributions to many military communication research and training. From this, she has several research papers published in international journals on military communication to her credit. She previously taught with Butler University, Rose-Hulman, IUPUI Purdue Engineering, Shangshi Normal University, China, and Indiana State University..

Dr. Whaley holds a baccalaureate and masters degree in organizational communication, with an emphasis in international studies, from Southeastern Louisiana University and a doctorate in higher educational leadership, curriculum and design from Oakland City University..
