Pam has always been interested in adult education - in the manufacturing setting she was heavily involved with creating training matrices for various professional roles. She also created and gave training on various topics such as UNIX, how-to for Microsoft Office products, etc. Pam was also instrumental in creating the training for the plant when it switched from a mainframe email system to Lotus Notes. This degree program, now called Cybersecurity/Information Assurance is leading-edge and is nationally recognized. She is interested in making everyone aware of how important it is to protect their data; both at home and at work. An extra-curricular activity that Schmelz participates in is the Columbus City Band. She has played trumpet with the band since 1993.
