Sgt. Matthew R. Marshall, a twenty-four year veteran of the Indiana State Police is currently assigned as a Squad Sergeant at the Sellersburg Post. I am a granduate of Vincennes University with an Associates in Criminal Justice from 1999, graduate of Indiana Tech University with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from 2021, and a graduate of Indiana Tech University with a Master's in Organizational Leadership. In addition to collegiate education, I am a graduate of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Leadership Academy in 2019 and a consistent student of leadership as I continue to grow as a professional law enforcement officer and professor.

I was hired by the Indiana State Police in 1999 after graduating the ISP Recruit School. While serving as a trooper, I was promoted to Squad Sergeant and awarded an instructor's certificate in 2012 from the Law Enforcement Training Board as a general instructor and firearms instructor. I have continued to teach to the citizenry of Indiana and fellow law enforcement officers in the fields of officer safety and unarmed response to active shooter events. In addition to my normal duties as a trooper, I lead the Sellersburg Mobile Field Force, coordinate, and assist with, the field training of new troopers, coordinate the internship program at the Sellersburg Post, and serve on the South Zone Honor Guard Team.

For thirteen years, I served as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Scoutmaster and instructor, focusing on teaching children, and adults, firearms safety.

Above all else, I have been married since 1998 and I am a proud father of three. I currently reside in Henryville, Indiana and am a member of Matthew 14 Ministries in Charlestown, Indiana.
