Bio:

Chef Liz Giménez is a native of Venezuela who came to the United States to pursue a degree in Business Administration. While attending college, she discovered her passion for the culinary arts and began working as an assistant to the Pastry Chef in the college dining facility. In this role, she was responsible for producing desserts and pastries for more than 3,500 students, faculty, and staff.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration–Management, Chef Liz relocated to Indianapolis, where she served as the Executive Chef for an industrial hunger relief program at a nonprofit organization. There, she oversaw the production of more than 4,000 nutritious meals daily for at-risk children, adults, and senior citizens.

While dedicating herself to serving Indianapolis’s most vulnerable communities, Chef Liz pursued her culinary education at Ivy Tech Community College, where she later earned her degree in Culinary Arts. Shortly thereafter, she achieved certification as a Certified Chef de Cuisine.

Chef Liz currently teaches culinary arts courses in the Hospitality Administration Department at Ivy Tech Community College. In addition, she became a Certified ServSafe Instructor and Exam Proctor in January 2005 and has since taught ServSafe courses in both English and Spanish—training more than 3,700 students to date.
