Bio:

I joined the Ivy Tech Community College North Central Division faculty in August 2010 bringing extensive experience in communication instruction, design, public relations, and communication training to the college.

Prior to my appointment with Ivy Tech, I taught speech communication at South Suburban College in South Holland, Ill. Furthermore, in addition to teaching speech communication and interviewing with my alma mater: Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Ind., I served as a mentor for teaching assistants within the Department of Communication and Creative Arts. I also worked with University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Ill. developing and implementing interpersonal communication curriculum for their part-time administrative training program.

My current areas of academic interest at Ivy Tech: collaborative learning techniques, web technology integration into the classroom, exploring and implementing open-source education materials for students.

I worked as a public relations associate, content editor, and page layout designer for varied not-for-profit organizations over the past 10 years.

Lastly, I earned a Master of Arts in Communication at Purdue University Calumet in 2007 (emphasis in rhetoric) and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication (emphasis in public relations) from Purdue University Calumet in 2000.
