Jeannie has been teaching at Ivy Tech Bloomington since the fall of 2012.  Since joining Ivy Tech she has strictly taught Biology 101.  Prior to moving to Bloomington, Jeannie had many years of experience teaching a variety of biology courses at IUPU Columbus as well as in the public schools as a high school science educator.  Jeannie's educational background includes a Bachelors of Science from Ball State as well as a Masters of Arts from Miami of Ohio.

Expect a variety of teaching approaches in biology 101 including short lectures, group work, in-class assignments used to enhance course objectives and labs that meet after every lecture.  Expect that you will get to know your classmates and expect that your instructor will know you as a person.  Jeannie's goal for the course is to help make the material as accessible and applicable to real life as possible.  In addition to preparing students for future science courses, she also aims to help students develop the tools needed to critically evaluate scientific information and misinformation.
