Short Biography

I graduated with my B.S. in Physics(minor in Math) from Indiana University in Bloomington. After that I received my M.S. in Physics from Ball State University in Muncie. My concentration was computational nanoscience. In my undergraduate years I did an internship in Goettingen, Germany at the Georg-August Universitaet. I worked in a geophysical fluids lab, measuring double diffusive convection. I also happen to be fluent in German, which was helpful while I was over there. As a graduate student I spent a summer at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center where I wrote code to simulate the orbital mechanics of comets (I'm also a huge KSP fan). After all of that I taught at Ivy Tech for a couple of years. I then spent a year studying nuclear instrumentation in the nuclear engineering program at The Ohio State University. I was then hired as a full time physical sciences instructor at the Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne in August of 2015. During my time as a full time instructor I decided to learn how to fly, which led me to my second career in life. I left in May 2023 to pursue aviation full time as a flight instructor. I still teach courses as an adjunct. I couldn't stay away from the sciences!

Outside of work I like to play my guitar, cook, juggle, fix things, spend time with my wife and daughter, and read (history, science fiction and fact, economics, to name a few).
