My name is Dianna L Pittman. I work in Educational Technology South Bend/Elkhart. My journey with Ivy Tech Community College began on July 31, 2019, and I really enjoy it. My goal for many years has been to teach, but life took me on a different path. I have been an entrepreneur for most of my adult life. I worked as a licensed cosmetologist for about 15 years and a mobile notary for the past 8. I still perform services in both industries.
I love teaching because I have always had a knack for transferring knowledge and getting people to the infamous “a-ha” moment. I have always been the go-to person for assistance with understanding contracts and other documentation, technology, and just plain old whatever. It warms my heart to see the anxiety and frustration replaced with a huge smile at the end of a learning session.
I have been a student myself for many years as well. In 1998, I received my cosmetology diploma, in 2004, I completed my A.S. in business management, in 2007, the B.S. in Business Administration, in 2009, the M.B.A., Entrepreneurship, and in 2013, the M.Ed. Adult Education. Along the way, I have also taken courses and workshops to obtain/maintain credentialing and licensing.
My awesome husband Anthony and I have been married for 24 years. We don't have children together but we raised a blended family of 7, which includes my 3 children, his daughter and stepdaughter, and 2 nephews. I now enjoy spending time with my 3 grandchildren, re-purposing old furniture and thrift shopping.
Yes, I have been very busy professionally and personally, but it's all been worth it. |
