Bio:

Dawn BonAmi is currently the Director of K-14 Initiatives: Dual Credit and Early College with Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne/Warsaw.  As the K-14 Director she offers 25+ years direct work experience with area superintendents, principals, CTE administrators, guidance, teachers, and students throughout northeast Indiana through many collaborative efforts, namely developing a seamless transition to post-secondary education through dual credit opportunities and early college efforts. She continues to be instrumental in connecting K-12 school partners with the respective academic affairs expert while being actively engaged and involved with several different collaborative projects with high schools/school corporations, college and community committees, business and industry, and grant opportunities. She served as an adjunct faculty for 6 years. lastly, she has 5+ years of experience in the private sector as a marketing and training coordinator for a Fortune 50 company and 4 years as a corporate headhunter/recruiter.

  • Oversight and implementation of all aspects of Dual Credit and Early College for our 11-county region (comprises 55 school partners (rural & urban representing 100 schools), 1,024 DC Agreements, 348 DC Instructors, 8,800+ unique students,14,300 duplicated students earning 62,128 college credits resulting in $9.2 million in tuition savings. 6 Early College Partners (3 Endorsed HS's and 2 Career Centers, and 2 Emerging HS's). 561 HS Students earned 752 College credentials in AY 22-23.

Additionally, Dawn offers extensive knowledge and practical technical support to further programs in high schools involving careers and college readiness, as evident with her knowledge and experience from serving on the Northeast Indiana Partnership and associated area Youth Council, and Education Leadership Council of the Big Goal Collaborative, Education Workforce Innovation Network (EWIN). She has served as a Junior Achievement champion and board member for the Garrett (DeKalb County) board, JA classroom volunteer, and Study Connection substitute. And finally, Dawn  represented the College on the Northweast Indiana Regional Partnership, helped support the initial launch of the Made by Me Campaign, and was appointed to the Governors Work Council under former vice president Mike Pence. 

Dawn retains a Master's Degree in Executive Development for Public Service, a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Psychology, and an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. She is married to Bob and they have two sons, Scott and Eric. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering at church, cooking, gardening, and cruising.
