Dr. Chapla Verma is currently teaching at Ivy Tech in Bloomington, Indiana, she is teaching here since past few years. She is also Assistant Professor at American Public University Systems, an online university. Born and raised in India, she spent several years in Canada and now she lives in Bloomington, Indiana. She did her undergraduate and graduate work from Allahabad University. Her Masters degree is in Philosophy. She completed her doctoral work from Magadh University, India. Her PhD. is in Zen Buddhism. She has taught Philosophy and Religion in three different countries, India, Canada and now in the US. She has published a book chapter in 2000: The Wildering Gloom: Woman's Place in Buddhist History', in Manda Kranta Bose (Ed.), Faces of the Feminine in Ancient, Medieval, and Modern India,' Oxford University Press, New York. Her PhD. thesis was published in a book form in 1998 titled Zen Buddhism: Philosophy and Mysticism', published by Vidhyanidhi Prakashan, New Delhi. She teaches Philosophy and Religion courses at Ivy Tech. In her free time she likes to play golf, read books, do meditation and yoga. |
