Bio:

I am an adjunct professor of philosophy in the department of humanities. At Ivy Tech I have taught Intro to Philosophy (PHIL 101), Intro to Ethics (PHIL 102), and Logic (PHIL 213). I structure my courses based on sociocultural learning theory, I strive to create a learning environment framed by the individual student's career and educational goals. I would rather my students leave my courses with one thing they will use to further their own success (whatever that looks like to them) than one thousand irrelevant facts about dead white men.

I received my MA in Philosophy from Virginia Tech and an MS in History and Philosophy of Science from IU. My philosophical work was in cognition & perception, pragmatism, and identity. Currently, I am a Ph.D. Student at Indiana University, Bloomington School of Education. I currently work on game-based learning, asset-based pedagogy, and resistance theory, particularly in community college contexts. I specialize in Design-based research (DBR) and community-sustaining research practices. My publications can be found on my website (forthcoming).

Outside of education, I am a designer with a local game design company and I raise miniature dairy goats.
